Philadelphia, PA – September 6, 2018 – The Curbsiders is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Renee Dversdal as the Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) Chief at Kashlak Memorial Hospital.

In her role as POCUS chief, Dr. Dversdal will help The Curbsiders shed light into how bedside ultrasound can revolutionize the practice of medicine and enhance the physical exam skills of the Internist for both inpatient and outpatient exams.

Dr. Renee Dversdal is an internist, and associate professor of medicine at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU). Dr. Dversdal’s ultrasound obsession started near the end of her Internal Medicine residency at Massachusetts General Hospital, and has continued to grow since returning to OHSU in 2012.  As the Director of OHSU Point of Care Ultrasound, Renee works in ultrasound education across the medical education spectrum from MD/NP/PA students to residents/fellows and faculty from OHSU and abroad.

“Kashlak Memorial Hospital is thrilled to have Dr. Dversdal join the team,” said co-founder Matthew Watto, MD. “ Dr. Dverdsal’s outstanding leadership skills and impressive research productivity combined with her growing ultrasound obsession and deep knowledge on the subject makes her perfect for the role. I am really excited to learn more about the use of POCUS and how it can help my practice and teaching at the bedside.”
